Supply chain and logistics Company Allport Cargo Services (ACS) is recruiting for 150 seasonal staff to work at its distribution centre on Bardon Industrial Estate.

Since moving to Bardon in May 2017, ACS has hired 40 permanent staff to support the logistics contracts it has with fashion-forward stationary giant Smiggle and online book retailer Parragon. Now, the company says it need the help of another 150 seasonal staff to help order pick and pack customer orders on the busy run up to Christmas.

Logistics director at Allport Cargo Services, Alberto Llames, said: “We look forward to welcoming local people into seasonal work at our modern warehouse in Bardon, Coalville. There will be a number of potential permanent jobs available in January and we are hoping to recruit for these roles from our seasonal workforce during peak.

“We have partnered with Leicester recruitment agency Regional Recruitment Services to manage our recruitment of seasonal warehouse colleagues. They are providing free transport from Leicester City Centre at our shift start and finish times so jobseekers from all over the county consider working with us.”

Managing director at Regional Recruitment Services, Michael Clapton, said: “We are delighted that ACS have chosen to work with us for their recruitment. It’s great for us to work with another Employer in Leicestershire that really do value their temporary and permanent workforce.

“Having already helped 40 people into permanent employment with ACS, we know how popular they will be to work with. The working environment is clean and modern, full training is provided and they even pay wages for staff breaks. The seasonal work until Christmas will be busy and fun. For many, it will also be the start of a long and fulfilling career with ACS.”
