New lodges unveiled at Center Parcs East Midlands

Nottingham-based construction firm Stepnell has finished 28 new timber-framed lodges at Center Parcs Sherwood Forest.

The new lodges extend the accommodation available to guests at the short break village which is set in 400 acres of woodland, near Rufford in Nottinghamshire.

Designed by Jackson Design Associates, the lodges feature external timber and stone cladding in the same architectural style as the lodges at Woburn Forest. The new accommodation comprises of 27 new Executive Lodges – 22 three-bedroom and five four-bedroom with some featuring hot tubs and saunas – as well as one six-bedroom Woodland Lodge, the first of its kind at Center Parcs.

The lodges have been built at three separate locations at Sherwood Forest with Stepnell also creating new roads, services and car parking through a £6.3m construction contract.

Stepnell construction director Bill Haynes said: “We’re extremely pleased to have continued our relationship with Center Parcs with the delivery of these beautifully designed, high-quality lodges at Sherwood Forest. As a local company – our Nottingham office is located at the Eldon Business Park, Chilwell – we are delighted to have helped complete this impressive accommodation for one of the region’s key leisure destinations.”

Steve Robinson, deputy general manager at Center Parcs Sherwood Forest, says: “Stepnell have helped us deliver an exciting accommodation project at Sherwood Forest which includes our first ever six-bedroom Woodland Lodge, perfect for larger families or groups of friends to get together. The team really understood our requirements and helped us to deliver the project on time so more guests can experience short breaks at Center Parcs.”

Stepnell has also recently completed a project to build 57 single-storey timber frame lodges for Center Parcs at its Woburn Forest village in Bedfordshire.
