Scalford Hall Hotel enters administration with 35 jobs at risk

A well-known Leicestershire hotel has closed with the loss of 35 jobs.

Scalford Hall Hotel, near Melton Mowbray, called in administrators from Portland Business & Financial Solutions on 2nd January.

However, according to reports in the Melton Times, current owner Colin Warburg says he wants to re-open the hotel this week under a new management company and re-employ all staff.

Warburg took over the 81-room hotel in 2014, when he bought it out of administration. At the time, the deal saved 50 jobs.

The hotel has Royal links, with Edward VIII alleged to have visited it with Wallis Simpson.
