Commercial property agency NG Chartered Surveyors has completed the letting of unit 4 Weldon Road, Loughborough to The Exaireo Trust.

The deal to let the 5,850 sq ft unit, just off the A6, comes just four weeks after it became vacant.

Richard Sutton, director at NG, who brokered the deal, said: “I’m especially pleased to have completed this letting so quickly, thus maintaining the estates 100% occupancy – something which NG are extremely proud of.”

The Exaireo Trust was formed in 2008 and is a small Christian charity based in Loughborough. They have recently become a Registered Provider of Social Housing providing temporary supported accommodation for adults that would otherwise be homeless.

The Trust supports residents back into work and one of their requirements for residents is that they complete 15 hours of purposeful work each week. To help the residents achieve this they run several projects allowing them to volunteer with the Trust. One of these projects is a furniture recycling project that currently operates from a small industrial unit in Loughborough.

Sutton added: “The project accepts donated furniture, some of which is refurbished and then sold via eBay or Gumtree, while the remainder is given away to those in need in the community.

“It is the Trust’s intention to expand this project and compliment it with a Community RePaint Scheme therefore they need larger premises.”

This scheme will take unwanted surplus paint from the local community and sell it on or donate it to those in need locally. They will not accept or handle any hazardous paint or substances.

Chris York of The Exaireo Trust said: “Moving to larger, more prominent premises is another milestone in the development of the charity. We are determined to make a significant difference in the local community; developing our residents’ skills and improving their self-confidence by reusing unwanted paint and furniture and supporting those in need.”

Sutton concluded: “Completing any deal is great for our clients, but the background to this particular one makes it all the more satisfying. I hope the Trust continues the good work in their new premises.”
