Derby County to launch coffee shop

200 Degrees will be supplying the coffee beans

Derby County are set to launch their own own coffee shop.

The current Starbucks unit at Pride Park Stadium is set to close on 28 June ahead of a major refurbishment and transformation into The Backyard. Nottingham-headquartered 200 Degrees Coffee will be providing the coffee beans.

Steve Fletcher, ClubDCFC general manager, said: “We’re very excited to re-launch our coffee shop, The Backyard, at Pride Park Stadium.

“Our brand has gone from strength-to-strength and this opening represents a significant step forward for the company.

“At The Backyard, customers can choose to grab a snack on their way into work or relax with a full service breakfast offer in comfortable surroundings.

“It goes without saying that the coffee shop market has seen explosive growth in the UK over the last few years, and now we also want to offer locals and commuters high quality food options with the flexibility to grab it on the go if need be.”

Tom Vincent, director at 200 Degrees Coffee, added: “Everyone at 200 Degrees is very excited to be working with Derby County, supplying the coffee and machines for their fantastic new coffee shop.

“Our beans are roasted at the other end of Brian Clough Way and we will be on hand to add our expertise to the already first-class hospitality at Pride Park.”
