On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Tia Bingham

Mansfield-based homebuilder Rippon Homes has hired Tia Bingham as a new trainee sales negotiator at its Cavendish Gardens development in Tibshelf.

She said: “House building is something that I’ve always been intrigued about and I was keen to try out something new that I’d never experienced in a role before.”

She added: “I love seeing people’s faces when they secure the home of their dreams. They’re so excited and happy; it’s very satisfying to be a part of. I also love being able to talk through designs and upgrade options with them because you get to see each individual’s style and taste. In fact, it’s a real privilege to be a part of a family’s homebuying journey.”

Ian Dyke, managing director for Rippon Homes said: “We are delighted to have Tia on board. We are very proud to be able to have the means and opportunities to help local people start out in a new career and are excited to see Tia realise her full potential in years to come and be a real asset to Rippon Homes and the housing industry.”

David Hubbard with Ben Markwell

A Derby-based business that buys and sells pre-owned Microsoft software across Europe has promoted its first intern to a placement role.

ValueLicensing took on Ben Markwell, a BSc Hons Digital Marketing student on a six-week internship in the summer. After a successful period working with the team and being trained by their experts, he has now been given a 12-month placement.

ValueLicensing deputy managing director David Hubbard said: “We were keen to see what we could do as a local business to support our graduates and had been looking at creating an internship programme for some time. Once we were ready and confident that we could add and receive real value, we contacted the University of Derby and we were very pleased to find Ben.

“It was apparent from the start that Ben was eager to work and to gain experience in the world of marketing. We offered him the internship and swiftly saw benefits to the business and have have now created a role for him.

“As a business, our marketing team and strategy has developed rapidly this year and with Ben on board to work alongside our marketing team, we are looking forward to seeing what the next year brings.”
