Plans revealed for mixed-use Leicester city centre scheme

How the scheme will look

Plans have been unveiled to build a mixed-use scheme in Leicester city centre made up of residential and commercial units.

Living Choice Investments wants to build 104 apartments over eight storeys, with three commercial units on the ground floor at 132-140 Highcross Street.

The developer says it will demolish the current buildings on the site, in the Waterside area of the Leicester, which are currently used by a printing business.

A planning statement with the application reads: “The development represents a scheme of high quality, contemporary design which reflects the urban grain of the area, as it transitions from the poor quality, semi-derelict townscape that previously characterised the Highcross locality to moder development emerging on sites adjacent to the application site.”
