Notts County ‘unaffected’ by Paragon woes as owner hints at sale

Notts County’s owner has moved to reassure supporters that the club will not be affected by any financial problems his fit-out company Paragon Interiors may be experiencing.

Rumours continued to ciruculate on Monday that the Magpies may fall into administration after reports that Paragon itself was about to call administrators in.

However, owner and chairman Alan Hardy says this is not the case and he could be on the verge of selling the club.

In a statement, Alan Hardy said: “Further to recent speculation about the financial performance of Paragon Interiors Group PLC and any impact this may have on Notts County Football Club, I want to assure supporters that the club will not be affected.

“In the coming days I expect to receive a formal offer to purchase the club from an overseas consortium and more updates will follow in due course.

“In the meantime, I will continue to support the club as best I can while dealing with a very difficult and stressful situation at Paragon.

“Thank you for your continued support.”

Earlier on Monday, Sky Sports News said that there were “serious financial concerns” at chairman and owner Alan Hardy’s interior fit-out company Paragon after it was revealed that the company loaned the Club £7m.

Sky Sports News say that Paragon is “facing the real prospect” of administration “in the next couple of weeks” and that the company has stopped work on a number of contracts.
