City Mayor signed in for third term

Sir Peter Soulsby has been officially named as Mayor of Leicester for a third term.
Soulsby was voted in during last week’s local elections, as Labour won 53 or the 54 seats available on Leicester City Council.
Soulsby took 61% of the vote, beating Tory candidate Baroness (Sandip) Verma into a distant second place.
In a tweet, Soulsby said: “Pleased to be back in the office as your elected City Mayor! Some inevitable challenges ahead but we’ll work to ensure our commitments are delivered.”
