Theme park shuts water attraction after visitors fall ill

An East Midlands theme park operator has closed part of its attraction after visitors had become ill after visiting its water park.
Twinlakes, near Melton Mowbray, has shut its Au Guang Water Park after children became ill over the weekend with sickness and diarrhoea.
Public Health England have launched an investigation into the reports after visitors fell ill on Friday.
A statement from Twinlakes said: “As soon as we heard reports that some visitors have become ill following their visit to the Water Park we took the decision to close it as a precautionary measure.
“We are working closely with the Health and Safety Executive to investigate and hope to be able to provide information about the re-opening of the Au Guang Dragon Water Park very soon.”
