Ex-banker launches alternative finance firm

Brian Cartwright

Leicestershire-based Brian Cartwright has launched NEXA Finance after spending 25 years in banking.

Nexa Finance says it will connect East Midlands based SME property developers and house builders with funders.

The company’s core products comprise of several different loan offerings; the property development loan available to developers and builders seeking to build small scale residential homes and a property refurbishment loan for the conversion of existing residential or commercial buildings. In addition, NEXA also offers a property exit loan to support those wishing to raise capital on completed projects in order to fund their next development.

Brian Cartwright, managing director, said: “The ethos of NEXA is to bypass complicated and unnecessary processes that sit within traditional banks, and personally, I want to be able to communicate with potential investors in an honest and straightforward way. There is a huge amount of potential property development here in the East Midlands and I look forward to bringing NEXA Finance to the community.”

Cartwright’s career began at a Bank of Scotland subsidiary, where he spent 17 years. This was followed by more recent senior management positions including three years as regional sales director at Barclays Bank, four years as commercial director at Cambridge & Counties Bank, and head of finance at peer to peer lender RateSetter, before going on to launch NEXA Finance.
