Everards partners with cinema to brew fundraising beer

Phoenix cinema and art centre in Leicester has partnered with Everards of Leicestershire to brew a special fundraising beer – Phoenix 2020 golden citrus ale – which was launched at Phoenix’s summer beer festival this August bank holiday weekend.

Phoenix 2020 will be on sale exclusively in Phoenix’s Café Bar for the next 12 months, with 20p from every pint sold being donated to the Phoenix 2020 project, which will see the venue grow into a four screen cinema with a new gallery space and larger Café Bar with a roof terrace.

Claire Cannell, events and promotions manager at Everards of Leicestershire said: “We have a great partnership with Phoenix and it’s wonderful to be able to help them with their fundraising efforts. We have donated £1,000 to start them off and created this special beer which will be available throughout the year. As well as their customers enjoying their beer they can also feel good that they are donating to ‘Phoenix 2020’ with 20p from every pint sold being donated to this great cause.”

Phoenix’s chief executive John Rance said: “Phoenix has a longstanding relationship with Everards. Over the years they have supported us with developing our garden space and hosted some excellent beer tasting events for our members. We’re excited to be partnering with them on our new Phoenix 2020 beer and their generous donation is a welcome boost to our fundraising efforts. I hope that the partnership will continue to flourish as we move ahead with our exciting Phoenix 2020 expansion plans.”
