On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Leicestershire-based alternative lender NEXA Finance has appointed Mark E. J. Williams as its new chief commercial officer and director of credit risk.

Williams started his career at HSBC in 1984 and most recently worked for a private bank looking after high net worth individuals. He has also held roles at RateSetter and Growth Street.

He said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at NEXA Finance as chief commercial officer and director of credit risk. As the first regionally focused alternative finance lender to connect institutional funders to SME property developers, I’m looking forward to working as part of this innovative business.”

Elsewhere, Nottingham cancer detection firm Oncimmune has announced three senior appointments.

Professor Tariq Sethi joins as chief scientific officer, Matthew Luttrell comes on-board as chief commercial officer and Cléa Rosenfeld becomes the firm’s head of investor relations.

An emeritus professor at King’s College London, Sethi is a researcher, clinician and entrepreneur with over 35 years of combined academic and industry experience. He was previously chief physician scientist and vice president in the clinical discovery unit at AstraZeneca.

Luttrell has accrued a wealth of experience as a health and life science commercial executive having previously worked for several large pharmaceutical companies including Novo Nordisk, GlaxoSmithKline and Shire (now Takeda).

Rosenfeld joined the Oncimmune team as head of investor relations in July 2019. She has over 15 years of experience working in FTSE 100 and 250 companies. She previously held the same role at Shire for eleven years.
