On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Simon Key and Fabian Taylor

Nottingham-based law firm Nelsons has announced two new appointments.

Simon Key becomes partner and head of the firm’s debt recovery team while Fabian Taylor takes up the role of associate in the investment management team. The pair have collectively worked at Nelsons, in Stanford Street, for more than 16 years.

Key qualified as a solicitor in 2010 after joining the company in 2007.

He said: “I am very proud to have been promoted to partner at Nelsons and feel this is recognition of my commitment and dedication over the past 12 years with the firm.”

Associate and chartered financial planner Taylor joined the firm’s Nottingham-based investment management team in 2015.

He said: “I am delighted to have been promoted to associate – it’s great that Nelsons has recognised the hard work that I carry out. I have learned so much during my time at Nelsons and continue to broaden my knowledge each day.”

Elsewhere, Grantham-based JMP Solicitors has grown its team with a trio of new recruits.

Jacqui Harley has joined as conveyancing executive, Emma Darley comes on-board as trainee legal executive and Zoe Sadler has been appointed as marketing manager.

Harley, previously of Hegarty LLP, will oversee JMP’s conveyancing team as head of the residential conveyancing department. Darley will be responsible for assisting the wider family law team, and Sadler, who joins from Nelsons, will lead the company’s growth strategy.

Harley said: “Client care is at the heart of JMP’s services and due to this forward-thinking personal approach, treating clients as real people, I have really been looking forward to joining the team.”

Darley added: “With JMP Solicitors, there is a lot of room for progression, which attracted me to the role. In my new position, I will be able to expand my knowledge and skillset while working on a varied caseload. I can’t wait to go forward with the company in the future.”
