On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Clare Swain and John Hamnett

Ollerton-based manufacturer A1 Flue Systems has appointed Clare Swain to bolster its UK-wide field sales team.

Swain comes on-board with more than 20 years’ experience in the flue industry and the wider heating, ventilation and air conditioning sector. She has worked for the company previously and “jumped at the chance” to return.

She said: “A1 is a great company to be a part of, especially as it has a new managing director in place driving the business forward.

“My role will principally involve dealing with the regional offices of some of the UK’s largest construction companies on projects including hospitals, hotels, offices, schools and public buildings.”

A1 Flues recently secured a multi-million pound contract to manufacture nine British-made 100-metre tall chimney systems to be installed inside two of the four chimneys at Battersea Power Station in London.

Managing director John Hamnett added: “Clare has slotted straight back into the sales role she held with us previously and will be a real asset to the business.

“Although she knows flues and chimneys, her wider HVAC experience will also be hugely beneficial to the role, and she’s already hit the ground running, making contact with our key customers and those that we want to build closer and stronger relationships with.”

Elsewhere, Nottingham-based lettings and management firm Kingswood Residential Investment Management has announced a new recruit and extended its offices to accommodate its growing team.

Adam Kingswood and Charlotte Marshall

Charlotte Marshall comes on-board as a residential lettings negotiator and will handle the company’s 300-plus portfolio of client properties across Nottingham and Mansfield.

Staff numbers are now up to six at Kingswood, whose Regent Street 0ffices have recently been renovated.

Director Adam Kingswood said: “Charlotte has joined us to fulfil increased activity and business demand among the properties we are letting and managing. She will also provide additional resource, given the increased volume of administrative work resulting from multiple changes to industry regulation which have taken place recently, such as selective licensing. It was clear she shared our company values of delivering a personal and tailored service to our clients and I am confident that she will play a pivotal role in the future growth of the firm.’’
