A46 closed after ‘incident’

The A46 southbound in Leicestershire is closed in both directions, between the junctions with the A5630 (near the village of Anstey) and A6 (near the village of Wanlip), due to an incident.

Highways England says a diversion route is in place:

– Southbound traffic may leave the A46 at Wanlip, taking the A6 southbound towards Leicester, continuing on to the A563 (the Leicester Ring Road).

-Then take the A563 west and continue for approximately 2 miles, to the junction with the A5630.

– Travel north-west on the A5630, to then re-join the A46 southbound at Anstey.
