Vehicle management firm moves up a gear with board restructure

(L-R): Claire Timms, Jayne Stansfield and Simon Hill

Leicester-based vehicle management company Total Motion has made two key appointments and restructured its board, reflecting its “continued commitment” to diversity and gender equality.

The firm is the largest family run and privately-owned fleet management and leasing provider in the UK.

Financial director Claire Timms and operations director Jayne Stansfield join managing director and founder Simon Hill on the rejigged board.

Stansfield previously worked in the fleet industry for an auction house and has been with Total Motion for a little over a year. Timms, whose background is in construction, joined the company last October.

Hill said: “Appointing Jayne and Claire as directors means our board is now two thirds female-run, reflecting Total Motion’s continued commitment to diversity and gender equality.

“The vehicle leasing sector is traditionally very male dominated, but we go against that trend. Our team, of 116 – made up of employed and self-employed staff – has a ratio of 65 per cent female employees to 35 per cent male staff.

“Building a great team is all about recruiting the right people and we believe women are a driving force in our industry.”

The Meridian Business Park-based company has seen its profit margin grow by 3 per cent and its volumes increase by 9 per cent over the past 12 months.
