On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Nathan Bunting

PwC in the East Midlands has appointed a new tax director.

Nathan Bunting joins the firm’s growing tax team from KPMG. He will be based at the company’s Donington Court office, where he will focus on working with private businesses in the region.

Bunting said: “I’m delighted to join PwC at a time when private business is a key growth area for the firm, and indeed the success of private businesses in the country is critical to the nation’s future economic success and prosperity.

“It is clearly a challenging time for business with much uncertainty and continual change. My focus is to help businesses develop the right approach to tax. This includes achieving robust and efficient compliance processes, understanding and mitigating risks and taking advantage of opportunities and incentives that exist to support business growth and employment.”

Trusha Kachhela, tax leader for PwC in the Midlands, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Nathan to the team, demonstrating our continued commitment to strengthening our tax practice in the Midlands. Nathan brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to benefit our clients and strengthen our market position.”

Elsewhere, Burton-based Lorien Engineering Solutions has welcomed four recent graduates to its team.

The multi-disciplinary engineering and project management business has recruited Keerth Kirubakaran, Zakariye Osman, Martin Chung and Laura Rutland as graduate engineers on its development programme.

Lorien’s new recruits

The new recruits will experience a range of sectors across the business before choosing a specialism.

Lorien launched its graduate programme in 2015 as a platform for learning and developing on the job.

Head of engineering Chris Bullock said: “Lorien is committed to high-quality, ongoing professional development. Our graduate scheme identifies emerging talent and supports young engineers in their learning and development. In turn, this new talent plays a key role in driving the growth and development of the business.

“This growing scheme is part of our wider professional development plan and now encompasses all engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, architectural, civil, and structural. Candidates are attracted by our diverse range of clients and variety of projects, along with the opportunity to experience the full life cycle of projects.”
