Jobs lost as Leicestershire building firm collapses

Leicestershire building company TMDP (Special Projects) has ceased trading.

Brian Baker of Moore Kingston Smith Licensed Insolvency Practitioners and Peter Windatt of BRI Business Recovery and Insolvency were appointed joint administrators of TMDP on 8 October.

The joint administrators told TheBusinessDesk.com that given the level of the company’s liabilities, the company was unlikely to avoid a formal insolvency process but it was hoped that there was the potential prospect of a proposal for a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) to reduce the associated costs. However, due to creditor pressure, this wasn’t possible

Some 11 people lost their jobs before the firm was placed into administration to avoid legal proceedings the administrators said could have jeopardised returns for creditors.

Peter Windatt said: “Brian and I will be working closely with the directors of TMDP and their solicitors to maximise recoveries, which we are hopeful will, in turn, provide a respectable return to unsecured creditors.”
