On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Independent law firm Actons has strengthened its commercial disputes team with a new senior hire.
Gordon Monaghan has joined the Nottingham-based company as an associate.
Monaghan qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and previously worked for Browne Jacobson and Bray & Bray.
In 2017 he became an accredited commercial mediator.
Caroline Bowler, director and head of the dispute resolution group at Actons, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Gordon has joined us. He is held in high regard by clients and other professionals alike, and we are looking forward to his future with us. His appointment supports our growth plans for the team and wider firm as we look to grow our commercial disputes service to our clients.”
Elsewhere, Loughborough-based chartered surveyors Mather Jamie has appointed a new assistant land agent.

He will work under Mather Jamie directors Martin Ward and Andrew Bamber alongside rural practice surveyor Hamish Byers.
He said: “Moving to Leicestershire to take up this position with Mather Jamie is a decision I’m glad I’ve taken. I’m really enjoying getting to know Leicestershire geographically and getting a sense of the countryside, as well as meeting landowners and tenants in the region.
“My immediate aim is to complete my APC qualification and become a chartered rural surveyor within the next two years. Everyone at Mather Jamie has been very supportive in this regard, as well as being extremely welcoming.”
