Creative agency revamps premises

A Derbyshire-based creative agency has revamped its studio in order to accommodate an expanding workforce.

Fluid Ideas has been based in a converted cotton mill at Darley Abbey Mills, a World Heritage Site on the outskirts of Derby, for nine years.

Now, the 35-strong firm has redesigned its premises to create a new boardroom and a dedicated area for staff and client meetings, events, workshops and presentations.

It has also built a props room, added a new reception area and an additional breakout room for staff, and installed new IT and phone systems.

Joint managing director Phil Harvey led the project with Jamie Hovell, head of Fluid Ideas’ CGI team, and Carrie Gregory, a lead member of its brand and creative team.

Harvey said: “As the team and the business expands, we need additional dedicated space for formal and casual meetings with clients and colleagues, and for events, workshops and presentations.

“We have reconfigured an area of the building, and the alterations and new layout give us more options.

“Having an open-plan and collaborative studio is essential for our business, but the new spaces are equally important to benefit clients and staff.

“The reconfigured studio is much more flexible to meet our evolving needs and we’re very proud of the new facilities.”
