Digital public relations and marketing agency Carrington has announced two new hires.

The firm has celebrated its third anniversary by adding digital marketing manager Harriet Hanson and junior PR account executive Leah Benthin to its team.

The growing agency moved to larger premises in the summer and now boasts six members of staff.

Rob Tomkinson, founder of Carrington, said: “It’s been an incredible journey for Carrington so far, and it’s great to be rounding off our third year with two new talented marketing professionals. We have lots to celebrate!

“I’m really pleased Harriet and Leah have decided to join our growing team. Leah is a graduate with a first-class degree in English and Journalism and Harriet comes with years of SEO, PPC and social media management know-how. Alongside our existing team, their knowledge and experience will help us grow and develop right across the business.

“It’s an exciting time to be immersed in this industry and we’re seeing a growing demand for effective, creative and measurable campaigns which our team of experts can deliver. We’re confident of another good year to come in 2020.”

Carrington is based at Deepdale Enterprise Park in Nettleham, just outside Lincoln.

Elsewhere, property and construction consultancy Gleeds is offering two aspiring professionals the opportunity to gain hands-on experience of the construction industry.

The scheme, launched in conjunction with Nottingham Trent University, is intended to help close the gap between undergraduates and their first paid work opportunity. It also supports the Chartered Institute of Building’s Novus initiative, which aims to safeguard the future of the UK construction industry.

Bella Platts

Bella Platts, a trainee project manager at Gleeds, recently accepted the position of CIOB Novus Nottingham chair. Platts developed the scheme with the support of Andrea Davi, CIOB Novus Nottingham vice chair, and Kathryn Parsons, CIOB Novus Nottingham University representative.

A shortlist of finalists will be announced in December, and those selected will be asked to attend an assessment day at Gleeds’ Nottingham base in the New Year.

The two winners will be invited to join the company as paid cost and project management interns over the course of summer 2020.

Simon Morris, director at Gleeds Nottingham, said: “Gleeds is proud to support the CIOB in its mission to cultivate the next generation of young talent. Nottingham has traditionally had a thriving construction industry and we are excited to play our part in laying the groundwork for its future success.”
