Consultancy completes work on £2m school project

East Midlands-based architecture and construction consultancy YMD Boon has completed work on a £2 million project to expand and remodel Farndon Fields Primary School in Market Harborough.

The 12-month scheme, which has seen the addition of 700 sq m of space, has doubled the size of Farndon Fields. The school now boasts seven new classrooms, an extended school hall and a new playground and car park.

YMD Boon managed the project on behalf of the school. Other consultants included John Lester Partnership, HBa Consulting Engineers, Ideal Building Systems, MJE Contracts and Jackson Purdue Lever.

David Yates, director at YMD Boon, said: “Our design team wanted to create an engaging and inspiring environment for students to learn in, so it’s fantastic to see how the vision has been brought to life. Knowing that the expansion has helped respond to the community’s need for more primary school age places in the area is wonderful.

“We hope all students and staff enjoy their new facilities.”

Farndon Fields Primary School is a part of the Discovery Schools Trust.
