Huge East Midlands developments to be showcased at MIPIM

Three of the East Midlands’ biggest developments are to be showcased at MIPIM, the world’s largest real estate event.

The Midlands delegation will travel to Cannes for the annual event, which runs from 10-13 March, to highlight billions of pounds’ worth of investment opportunities in the region.

Nottinghamshire Council’s 40-acre £650 million Boots Island site, Leicester’s £100 million Space Park and Derby City Council’s £200 million Becketwell redevelopment scheme will all take centre stage this year.

Coventry-based Cassidy Group will also be showcasing a £48 million PRS scheme to create 320 residential units on a site adjacent to the new HMRC regional hub in Nottingham.

Midlands Engine chairman Sir John Peace said: “The Midlands is open for business and MIPIM is the best place to tell the world about it. The region’s outstanding infrastructure, connectivity and talent pool of more than 11 million people makes it the perfect investment destination.

“The reason we attend MIPIM each year is simple: it brings investment into the Midlands which in turn creates regeneration, infrastructure, jobs and money for the public purse.

“All of these factors add to a strong UK economy, which ultimately enhances prosperity and quality of life for the people who live and work in the Midlands.”

The Midlands delegation will have access to more than 26,000 property professionals at MIPIM 2020, ranging from potential investors, partners, clients, suppliers and global property media.
