Former garden centre to be turned into £10m residential scheme

How the scheme could look

Kaplan Property Group has secured detailed planning permission to transform a former garden centre, retail and restaurant site on the edge of Spalding into 72 residential units.

Spalding Lifestyle Centre has until recently traded as a garden centre and restaurant, located directly adjacent Johnson Community Hospital.

Construction work will start in March with first phase due to be occupied in Autumn 2021.

Michael Gisborne, property director at Kaplan Property Group said: “This is a carefully considered scheme designed to ensure the proposed mix and tenure of the homes provided accurately reflect local identified housing need, which is consistent with our approach across our wider residential programme.

“Comprehensive redevelopment of Spalding Lifestyle Centre represents a circa £10m investment in Spalding, with further investment in the district forecast for late 2020.”
