Second phase of 240-home residential scheme gets the go-ahead

Plans have been submitted for a new care home adjacent to the scheme

The second phase of a new residential scheme in the Lincolnshire market town of Louth has been given the green light by planning chiefs.

Snape Properties began building 80 homes at Westfield Park in 2018, and the housebuilder recently exercised an option to buy a further 40 plots after East Midlands-based developer Charterpoint Group received reserved matters planning permission for a further 160 properties on the site.

The additional homes will be a mix of houses and bungalows.

Meanwhile, plans for a two-storey, 66-bed care home on a separate plot adjacent to the scheme have been submitted to East Lindsey District Council by LNT Care Developments.

Adrian Goose, chief executive of the Charterpoint Group, said: “Westfield Park is a superb site, located close to all the services and amenities that Louth offers, and the first houses built there have proved popular, with work continuing well on the rest of phase one. We are delighted that phase two of the residential scheme is now progressing with a further 120 dwellings in the pipeline.

“Outline planning permission has previously been granted for a senior living element on the site and we are very pleased that detailed plans for a 66-bed care home to be built as part of the development have been submitted. There
has already been positive feedback from Louth Town Council to the proposals and we look forward to LNT Care Developments Ltd bringing this scheme to fruition.”
