Nottingham PR firm wins healthcare accolade

The Tonic team

A Nottingham PR agency has been highlighted as the best consultancy in the Midlands for its healthcare expertise.

The Tonic Communications – which is based in the Lace Market – was named by industry bible, PR Week, in the Top 40 agencies for the health sector.

It was among just a handful of consultancies based outside of London to be named, when the rankings were published last week.

The Tonic has a raft of healthcare clients for which it has delivered high profile campaigns, including national optician Vision Express, home health check service Medichecks, Connect Health, the largest independent provider of integrated community musculoskeletal (MSK) and pain services in the UK , plus Memory Health, a dietary supplement to delay Alzheimer’s Disease, and a charity called Astriid helping chronically ill people and carers find meaningful work.

The national agency was founded by Kelly Marshall-Hill and Georgina Phillips and has a second base in Newcastle.

Marshall-Hill said: “What was particularly special about this league table, is that we’ve never submitted our agency to it previously. Not because we’re reluctant to be judged against our peers. It’s simply that we’ve always held the firm belief that our clients should be centre stage, and that means focusing all of our efforts on them, rather than us – and this will always hold true.

“Although it feels slightly uncomfortable to be celebrating success during this difficult time, it’s important to recognise the efforts of our team, and also the clients we have in the healthcare sector that have trusted The Tonic to deliver some impactful and important activity. We want to thank them for being on this journey with us.”
