‘Asian KFC’ gets green light to create 70 jobs in Nottingham

A Filipino mutlinational chain of fast food restuarants has been given the go-ahead open a new restaurant in a landmark Nottingham city centre building.

Jollibee, which has been described as the “Asian KFC”, sells fried chicken, spaghetti and burgers from around 1,200 outlets worldwide, is set to open its latest venue in the long-derelict 46-48 Clumber Street building, in a move which will create 70 jobs.

Jollibee recently opened a restaurant in the former Select unit on Humberstone Gate in Leicester, creating 50 jobs.

Metro Bank had earmarked plans to open at into 46-48 Clumber Street in Nottingham, but shelved the move in 2019.
