People: Vibrant Accountancy; M-EC

Lauren Hiller

A Derby accountancy and business advice company has welcomed a sixth new member – and is searching for a seventh.

Vibrant Accountancy, based on Duffield Road, have hired Lauren Hiller as its head of tax.

The former Cooper Parry tax expert joins co-founders Ian Ball and Beverley Wakefield, Samantha Carter-Roe, Vibrant’s chief book-keeper, office co-ordinator Lynn McCabe and Emma Vicars, head of accounting.

Hiller said: “Vibrant is a fast-growing business and I admire just how very different they are; they’re disrupters in an industry which has a reputation for being ‘stuffy’ and the company has a real ‘family feel’ to it.

“They’re accountants but so much more; they’re very personal and hands-on with their clients and I like that.”

Matthew Lee

M-EC, the consulting development engineers, has appointed Matthew Lee as survey manager.

Lee will head up the firm’s Geomatics team at its Leicestershire head office.

Lee is a veteran of the industry and joins M-EC with over 30 years’ experience in managing projects across the globe in the mining, civil engineering and the oil and gas industries.
He said: “It is an exciting time to be joining the M-EC team and I am looking forward to really shaping the future of the department as the industry gets back up and running again following the pandemic.”

Alex Bennett, director of M-EC said: “We are extremely pleased to have Matthew on board and to add his expertise to the team. He is well respected within the industry and has vast experience that we know will hugely benefit our expanding client base and be instrumental in developing the future of the department both in terms of its capability and personnel.”
