Nottingham artisan bakery chain set to rise after landing funding deal

Anthony Quinn

A Nottingham’s specialist artisan bakery chain says business is booming after receiving £60,000 of start-up, and subsequent expansion funding, from First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans.

The Pudding Pantry is run by Anthony Quinn, who said: “Getting the funding and support was one of the most challenging aspects but First Enterprise backed us all the way.” After initially borrowing £20,000 to fund start-up costs, Anthony used First Enterprise to further expand and support his business with a £40,000 investment.

He added: “We are so pleased with the support we have received from First Enterprise and could not have done this without the help and advice from its advisors.”

The Pudding Pantry now has three branches in Nottingham employing close to 60 people with a view to open two more branches in the long term.

Richard Bearman, managing director, start-up loans said: “Having first met Anthony in 2020, I’m delighted to see The Pudding Pantry continue to go from strength to strength under his leadership. As one of Start Up Loans’ 2020/21 Ambassadors, Anthony and his team represent some of the best that Start Up Loans has to offer by way of inspiration to other aspiring entrepreneurs. I wish him every success as the business continues to grow and flourish.”
