Newark homewares wholesaler acquires Yorkshire counterpart

A Newark-based furniture and homewares wholesaler has bought a York supplier of homeware and giftware.

Geko Products of Egmanton, Newark, has snapped up Scarthingwell, which was founded in 1990 in Townton, near York.

Chris Cheetham, owner and managing director of Geko Products, said: “Scarthingwell is a great fit with our business. It brings a wider range of products, including ceramics, umbrella stands, metal furniture and decorative hooks.

“We are really looking forward to working with existing Scarthingwell customers and offering them
access to Geko products too.”

The Scarthingwell trade only showroom has now moved to the Geko head office in Nottinghamshire.

Geko is a family-run trade-only wholesale supplier of vanity cases, artificial plants, furniture,
trinket drawers, homeware, clocks and giftware.
