Nottingham developer gets go-ahead for major student scheme

How Bildurn's scheme will look

Nottingham developer Bildurn has been given the go-ahead to build a 294-bed student accommodation scheme on Huntingdon Street in the city.

The development, designed by Franklin Ellis and called Huntingdon Street Central, will be seven floors in height and be built on land currently occupied by Archer Accident Group and Halfords.

While the scheme will require the demolition of four dilapidated buildings, the Archer Accident building, which was formerly Playland Amusements, will have its façade retained and restored as part of the works.

Bildurn’s proposal includes a total of 294 beds in a mixture of cluster apartments with shared kitchen and living facilities, and self-contained studio apartments. There is expected to be a ratio of around 60% cluster bedrooms to 40% self-contained studios.
