Revised plans for 60-bed student scheme get backing of planning bosses

How the scheme will look

Revised plans for a new 60-bed student accommodation in Nottingham have received the backing of planning chiefs at the city council ahead of its planning committee siting next Wednesday (October 20).

The scheme was originally proposed in 2019, but has undergone design changes.

Work will involve the demolition of the existing property, disused play centre, at 34 Tennyson Street, which has been sold by Nottingham City Council to Fletcher Construction Midlands.

The proposed development consists of two blocks of four linked units and one block of two links units. Each unit will three storeys high and have an open plan lounge and kitchen at ground floor level and three en-suite bedrooms on the first and second floors.
