Housing Growth Partnership unlocks funds for new Leicestershire development
A new residential scheme, being developed by Bowbridge Homes in the Leicestershire countryside, is being backed by a £2.2m investment from the Housing Growth Partnership (HGP).
Forty-eight units are to be built in the medieval village of Frisby on the Wreake, with completion scheduled for November 2023.
Oliver Purday, director of Corby-based Bowbridge Homes, said: “The scheme is the latest step forward in the growth of Bowbridge Homes and we are delighted that the development – and our on-going growth – is being supported through our continuing partnership with HGP.”
The development comprises 32 open market homes, eight affordable homes as well as eight custom build plots – an element which marks HGP’s first involvement with custom build housing.
“This is an evolving area in the UK housing market with a lot of potential,” added Purday.
Mike Murphy, HGP’s Midlands and Wales investment director, said: “HGP is delighted to deepen its strategic partnership with Bowbridge Homes by embarking on this exciting new project. Not only will the development increase the supply of high-quality new homes in the area but the custom build element aims to tackle the unmet demand for custom build homes in the UK. This comes at a time when ‘self and custom building’ is high on the Government’s agenda, as evidenced in an action plan announced in April 2021.”
