Leicestershire road closed in both directions after serious collision

Leicestershire Police currently are currently leading the response to a serious collision on a minor road adjacent to the A5.

The A5 main carriageway has been closed to manage the build of traffic. The road is expected to remain closed throughout the afternoon as Leicestershire Police conduct collision investigations.

Leicestershire Police said in a statement: “This road is not likely to be open soon. Please find an alternative route.”

Highways England added: “Please avoid the area as this will be closed for the remainder of the afternoon, and likely into the evening.”
