Bid specialist scoops more than £500m of contracts

Leicester-based Your Tender Team is on a roll after winning more than £500m in contracts for the East Midlands over the past three years.

The bid writing company assists clients by either writing or reviewing their tenders.

James Kent, director of Your Tender Team, says the company has a 92% win rate for everything it writes.

Covid forced the business to adapt during the pandemic.

He said: “The council tenders that were scheduled to be to be released – they all got either shelved or cancelled or terminated.

“There was no rhyme or reason as to what was coming out. All of the tenders changed to things like PPE, face masks, hand sanitiser and remote learning software for schools.

“These are sectors that we haven’t really worked in before so we had to target a lot of new businesses and different sectors.”

Kent says that the nature of tenders has changed, as it is not just about delivering on a contract, but the added social value too.

“We work get our clients in, to talk to school kids about their career opportunities and pathways into a different type of career, it may be encouraging clients to take on apprentices. Within every tender now there’s a social value element. A lot of companies don’t really know how to tackle it and we want to assist with that.”

Your Tender Team recently won the Local Business Of The Year at Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards.

Kent said: “It’s an honour to win the award against stiff competition in our category. It’s great to be awarded as the Lloyds Bank Local Business Of The Year and be recognised for the difference we make to our local area. These awards demonstrate the importance small to medium-sized businesses have on their local areas and how much of a part they play in the UK economy in general.”
