Vicky Tomlinson

Browne Jacobson has added to its independent health & social care team after hiring corporate finance lawyer Vicky Tomlinson.

Tomlinson, who is currently based in the firm’s Nottingham corporate finance team, has over 10 years’ experience advising on all corporate M&A matters including share and business acquisitions and disposals, investments, group reorganisations and general company law matters.

Senior associate Tomlinson will work closely with Clare Auty, head of commercial health and lead partner for Browne Jacobson’s independent health and social care practice.

Auty said: “We have seen a considerable spike in corporate activity across the health and social care sector and the forecast is that this trend is likely to continue. Having someone with Vicky’s excellent corporate finance knowledge and experience on board will be a real asset for our clients and she will play a key role in contributing to our transactional growth strategy.

“Despite the challenges of the pandemic, healthcare has remained one of the most attractive assets for financial investors and has proved the resilience of the sector. We have seen a keen interest in retail healthcare such as fertility services where activity has been particularly strong. Looking ahead we also expect to see strong traction in the residential care home sector and in healthtech.”

Three university graduates have joined UHY Hacker Young’s Nottingham office as they embark on a career in accountancy.

Luke Wilson, Jack Lee and Alexander Nowab

Luke Wilson, Jack Lee and Alexander Nowab have all joined the firm as chartered accountant trainees, bolstering UHY’s audit and accounts team.

James Simmonds, partner at UHY Nottingham, said: “Investing in future talent is so important, and as a business we are proud to have a regular stream of employment opportunities open to graduates – helping them to launch their careers at UHY.

“In the short time our latest graduate hires have been with us, they have all shown to be extremely diligent and confident young professionals who are eager to develop their skills and knowledge of chartered accountancy. Through bolstering our team, our graduates enable us to continue delivering a high-quality service to our clients across the East Midlands.”
