Pensions specialist swoops for stricken counterpart

Steve Harvey

A Leicester pensions firm has bought a Dorset counterpart out of administration.

Westerby Trustee Services, part of the Westerby Group, has swooped for Corporate & Professional Pensions (CPPL), which called in administrators earlier this year.

All CPPL staff will transfer to Westerby and its Weymouth office will remain open.

Westerby Group managing director, Steve Harvey, said: “CPPL has great synergy with Westerby as CPPL provides a high level of service to its customers in the specialist area of Self Invested Personal Pensions and Small Self Administered Schemes. So, we are very much looking forward to this exciting new chapter as CPPL becomes part of the Westerby brand.”

Westerby Group chairman Les McLintic added: “As a company, Westerby has been growing organically for over 30 years. This acquisition will not only enhance our growth strategy, but it will also contribute to our long-term future strength in the industry.”

The move means that the Westerby Group’s total assets under trusteeship, administration and advice is now over £1.5bn with around 5,000 clients.
