Private equity-backed furniture manufacturer The Belfield Group has appointed a new CEO to drive the next phase of its growth.

Part of the NorthEdge portfolio, Ilkeston-based Belfield is the largest designer and manufacturer of home furnishings in the UK and employs around 1,600 people. It supplies many of the UK’s best known furniture retailers including household names such as M&S, John Lewis and Next.

Rachael Nevins steps into the hot seat following a 30-plus-year career working with PE-backed companies across a wide range of sectors.

Nevins was previously CEO of integrated customer communications business Adare SEC, where she led a company-wide transformation.

Working alongside NorthEdge and the Belfield management team, she will be responsible for Belfield’s Westbridge, Tetrad, Clinchplain and Home & Leisure brands.

Nevins said: “My career has always centred on people and change management, looking at businesses and teams from a different perspective and forming plans to build and enhance on current offerings. There is so much more potential to be delivered at The Belfield Group, and I’m looking forward to working with a fantastic team to bring our plans to life over the next few years.”

Nicola McQuaid, director at NorthEdge, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome Rachael to the Belfield team, and we look forward to working with her to realise Belfield’s full potential following a successful period of growth.”
