Food and beverage consultancy rebrands to become the largest firm of its kind in the UK

Matthew Carr

East Midlands-based food and beverage manufacturing consultancy Integrated Food Projects (IFP) has rebranded and taken on the name of its parent company – creating the largest firm of its kind in the UK.

IFP was acquired by Danish food and drink specialist NIRAS in 2020, and will now fully integrate with NIRAS’ food and beverage business.

The rebranded company will operate from four UK locations including IFP’s current base in Kegworth.

As part of the rebrand, Matthew Carr, previously managing director – commercial at IFP, has been promoted to business unit director. The firm’s senior leadership team will also include Nick Hickman, who will take responsibility for VP Projects, and Phil Mason, who takes on the role of VP Operations.

NIRAS now boasts a team of over 150 consultants, engineers and project managers.

Carr said: “We are incredibly proud of what we have built at Integrated Food Projects. By rebranding to NIRAS and consolidating the experience of some of the best food and beverage consultants and engineers in the country under one leadership team, we will be able to provide a greater depth of expertise for our clients. Working with teams across NIRAS, this will allow us to provide a one-stop shop for market-leading food and beverage companies looking to expand and improve their manufacturing capabilities.”

Thomas B. Olsen, senior vice-president for Process Industry at NIRAS, said: “IFP has complemented our business extremely well these last years, and our clients have seen the benefits of combining our strengths. Therefore, it makes a lot of sense to change Integrated Food Projects’ brand to NIRAS now.”

He added: “At NIRAS, we have a very strong focus on the green transition and sustainability which are also key areas for IFP and its clients. Under a single company brand, we will continue to offer our clients complete solutions that combine IFP’s strategic business consultancy acumen with NIRAS’ innovative engineering solutions. We are one company, so when we deliver our projects we can draw on the best specialists from the United Kingdom, Ireland, The Netherlands and Denmark.”
