Relocation pays off for £10m concrete equipment supplier

ConSpare's premises at Castlewood Business Park

ConSpare, the Nottinghamshire-based concrete production equipment supplier, has revealed it notched up a company record turnover last year, with group sales passing the £10m mark for the first time.

The Sutton-in-Ashfield firm achieved the milestone following a year of transformation which saw its two businesses, ConSpare and ProSpare, relocate to new premises at Castlewood Business Park.

The company also hired 12 new members of staff during the period.

The milestone means ConSpare has grown its turnover by 27% in the last three years.

James Bullock, managing director of ConSpare, said: “I am proud to be able to report an excellent year of progress in 2022. Having been based in Pinxton for over 45 years, it was a big decision to relocate the company. As our results for the year demonstrate, our decision has paid off with turnover in both group companies going from strength-to-strength.

“We also set ourselves the challenging task of upgrading our back-office systems to coincide with the move, implementing highly efficient paperless processes which have transformed how the business operates. With these new foundations in place, both of our businesses are now in a strong position to develop further in the coming years.”

The company’s new purpose-built facility contains 400% more capacity than its former premises in Pinxton, reinforcing its position as the largest stockholder of specialist concrete batch plant equipment and spare parts under one roof in the UK.

Operations director David Bullock said: “We didn’t just set out to build a bigger warehouse and offices. We have created something different, a centre of excellence with a demonstration area and meeting facilities which allow us to host best practice seminars for the concrete industry.

“The offices were also designed to facilitate a larger technical department with new 3D scanning, drawing and printing capability which has been a real game-changer in terms of new product development and quality control. The design of this workspace now more accurately reflects a company of our size and calibre.”

James added: “Achieving record turnover figures during a year of such change demonstrates the strength of both of our businesses. The whole team at ConSpare and ProSpare have gone above and beyond and I would like to thank everyone who has supported us in achieving such a fantastic milestone.”
