Companies come together to donate slow cookers to those in need

John Pye Auctions, working with Nottingham-based branding agency Rizk McCay Tribe, has donated 60 slow cookers to local food banks in order to help vulnerable people receive regular substantial meals.

During December, the teams donated slow cookers to the areas of Beeston, Bulwell, Bestwood, Clifton and Long Eaton food banks. These donations helped to supply visitors who had fallen on tough times and ensured that they were able to get a hot meal for themselves and their families each day.

Helen Andrews, director at Rizk McCay Tribe and someone who has helped to deliver all of the donated slow cookers, said: “We want to say a huge thank you to the team at John Pye, each location has been overwhelmed by your generosity! There have even been tears shed by some of the volunteers.

“We also achieved our main objective of getting all the cookers out by Christmas which is amazing, your kindness and willingness to donate such large amounts of goods in such humble ways is commendable, myself and everyone else involved want to let you know how much we appreciate what you have done”.

John Pye and Rizk McCay said that 28 slow cookers were received by Beeston, Bulwell and Bestwood food banks, alongside another 12 sent to Long Eaton food bank. The teams also managed to deliver 20 individual slow cookers to Clifton food bank.

Adam Pye, managing director of John Pye and Sons said: “It’s so important to us that we support those who are struggling.

“In the current climate donating to food banks is a fantastic thing to do to help those in need. The use of foodbanks has surged in Nottingham in the recent years, and we’re thrilled to have been able to offer our support.”
