Double charity deal for NG

Tall Trees in Retford

An organisation which supports parents and carers to enable young people with SEND to achieve their full potential in life has acquired a new premises in the Nottinghamshire market town of Retford, in a deal brokered by commercial property agency NG Chartered Surveyors.

NG’s managing director Richard Sutton acted for vendor Autism East Midlands (AEM), which has completed the sale of its former day centre Tall Trees in Retford to A Place To Call Our Own (APTCOO).

AEM provides a wide range of high-quality care, support and educational services to meet the needs of autistic individuals of all ages, and their families and carers.

APTCOO provides a wide variety of information, advice and guidance and access to a range of specialist support services to families with special needs, disabilities and life limiting conditions. The services are designed to encourage engagement and participation at the right time, and in the right place, where families can improve their health, education and well being within an inclusive community setting.

“APTCOO were the first party to view the property and decided on the spot it was perfect for them,” said Sutton.

“NG has been advising AEM on a number of disposals, and we believe the marriage of vendor and buyer on this deal was perfect. We wish APTCOO all the best with their new venue and look forward to working with AEM again in the near future.

Carol Burkitt, CEO of APTCOO, added: “We are thrilled to have our own special place in Retford supporting the Bassetlaw community. Tall Trees is a wonderful property providing sensory space inside and outside in the beautiful gardens. It was meant to be, Tall Trees provides the perfect environment, a big thank you to Richard who recognised the connection between AEM and APTCOO. Both charities hold the same values, passion and energy to support parents and young people to overcome difficulties and thrive with their newfound talents.”
