On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Alan Grant

Chesterfield law firm Elliot Mather has appointed Alan Grant as its new designated LLP member.

Grant is the first non-lawyer in the firm to be appointed as a designated LLP member, with his focus being on the strategic and operational aspects of the firm.

He joined Elliot Mather in 2016 as chief operations officer, and has planned and coordinated office relocations in three of the firm’s locations, and was also instrumental in the installation of a new IT system in 2017.

Grant said: “It is a pleasure to be part of a business that recognises the need for diverse skills. I believe my skillset compliments those of the existing Designated Members. I am excited for the future of Elliot Mather and for the staff being developed to continue our success and growth. I am grateful for the experiences I have obtained in different professional industries and look forward to the challenges within the legal sector.”

In his new role, Alan will retain overall responsibility for finance, HR, IT, marketing and admin but will also shift his emphasis to the strategic development of the firm.

Julie Page, managing partner and LLP member said: “From the day Alan joined Elliot Mather, he quickly made himself indispensable as he brought with him a range of skills and experience gained from outside the legal sector. Not only has Alan dealt successfully with a number of key operational issues around IT and office premises, he has also worked alongside the existing designated members to set the strategic direction of the firm.

We believe the appointment of our first non-lawyer designated member reflects our belief that if law firms are to grow and develop, the Senior Leadership Team needs a wide and varied skill set that goes beyond legal skills. We believe Alan brings those additional skills to Elliot Mather and we want him to feel integral to the firm’s future development.”

Rachel Hunt

Reuseabox has appointed marketing manager, Rachael Hunt, to its team.

Hunt has over 10 years of experience in marketing within the Lincoln business community.

Based on the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire border, Reuseabox is a packaging company dedicated to promoting the benefits of a circular economy where boxes are reused before being recycled.

Hunt said: “I’m so excited to have joined the Reuseabox journey. What attracted me to the role was their growth plans for the next five years and how they are doing good for both people and the world. I’m looking forward to sharing their story and being part of its mission for years to come.”

Jack Good, founder of Reuseabox, said: “The business has grown rapidly over the last few years and as we look to the future, I’m delighted to have Rachael on board to help us scale up, take our story further and encourage other organisations to join our reuse movement.”
