Social scene: Rory Underwood networking lunch

Around 40 business owners and leaders from across the East Midlands came together last Thursday (May 18) for TheBusinessDesk.com’s networking lunch with Rugby Union legend Rory Underwood MBE DL.

The event, which took place at Leicestershire County Cricket Club, saw Rory talk about his time playing for Leicester, England and the British Lions – while at the same time flying fighter jets for the RAF.

Rory went on to speak about how he learned the lessons from this dual life to help him become an entrepreneur – and eventually form his business, Wingman, which advises business owners on the best strategies for growth.

Talking for over an hour, Rory also took questions from our audience. He touched upon the state of professional rugby, who he thought would win this year’s Rugby Union World Cup and who had been the biggest inspiration in rugby, the RAF and business.
