Consumer products giant completes takeover of Notts firm

Ashley Freer

Consumer products giant JML has bought the remaining a 50% stake it didn’t own in Nottinghamshire-based DeVancer, the company behind the iBeani branded range of electronic tablet holders.

DeVancer, based in Warsop, was founded in 2014 by Ashley Freer and Nigel Spencer. Its core product line was the iBeani tablet bean bag stand, a range which provides universal use for iPhones, iPads, Kindles, ereaders and any other tablet computers.

The deal provides an exit for Freer and Spencer.

Post-deal, Freer has gone on to set up his own marketing agency online retailers.

He told TheBusinessDesk.com: “I have created Your Marketing Agency – helping entrepreneurs and business owners increase awareness and sales online, whether that be Amazon or a multi-channel approach, and from wherever they are in that journey to success.

“Due to the experience of running an online business for a decade, this isn’t just an ordinary marketing agency; we have the actual experience of being in the shoes of the business owner, know all the pinch points so can add our experience to our team’s marketing expertise to help business achieve more profitable sales online.”

Freer said Your Marketing Agency is busy building its client base, with several of its new customers coming from referrals and his existing contacts.
