On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Tom Gregory and Wes Hodelin

Botham Accounting, the Nottingham-based accountancy practice, has appointed healthcare and property specialist Wes Hodelin to oversee its new debt advisory service, Botham Capital.

Hodelin brings 16 years’ financial services experience to the company, 10 of which have been dedicated to healthcare and property financing. He has spent the majority of his career in the commercial banking sector, holding key positions with RBS Group and Santander. Most recently, Hodelin served as director of healthcare at MAF Finance Group.

He said: “I am delighted to be joining the Botham Accounting team, having worked closely with them on several transactions where my origination, structuring and execution expertise have combined with Botham’s robust financial modelling and due diligence services. The debt advisory practice will bring this all together under a single proposition which will serve to improve the client experience whilst making transactions efficient for all involved.

“Given Botham Accounting’s position as a mid-market boutique, and my track record of delivering funding in the £1m to £50m space, I am excited about unlocking the significant value our new and disruptive service will add to those who choose to engage us as advisers.”

Tom Gregory, director of Botham Accounting, added: “We’re thrilled that Wes has joined us.  Having Wes on board will enhance our offering to both existing clients as well as new clients.  In addition to work such as accounts preparation and audits we’re spending an increasing amount of time on transactional work so having Wes’s involvement and his experience will be invaluable.”

Elsewhere, Persimmon Homes Central has strengthened its planning team with a pair of new hires.

As my first role after graduating University, this time can feel daunting – but the team have been so welcoming and helpful with any questions that I may have. I can’t wait to see what the coming months have in store in my new role.”

Neil Williams, managing director at Persimmon Homes Central, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Lanica and Lewis to the team. Their skills and experience will be a real asset to Persimmon Central and the business overall more generally.

“Providing homes and infrastructure of outstanding quality is integral to what we do at Persimmon, and having Lanica and Lewis on board to support the planning team will help to ensure that we continue to deliver the highest standards for customers, communities and stakeholders.”
