Burton back in Derby with Flint Bishop

Law firm Flint Bishop has appointed Richard Burton as a senior associate in its commercial dispute resolution practice in Derby.
Burton joins from Anthony Collins Solicitors in Birmingham.
He brings a background in managing complex and high-value commercial litigation cases, including acting for a council in a breach of PFI contract valued at approximately £18m, which resulted in a negotiated settlement worth £3.5m. In another significant case, he represented a social housing provider in a breach of indemnity/warranty claim worth £4.2m, reaching a settlement of £3.9m through mediation.
Burton also served as an in-house solicitor for Derby City Council for seven years.
Partner and head of dispute resolution, Nick Wells, said: “We are pleased to welcome Richard to the firm as we continue to expand our commercial dispute resolution practice. With his extensive experience and expertise, Richard will work closely alongside myself and the rest of the team on commercial disputes, while also bringing additional skills in dealing with procurement, PFI, and local government disputes. We are confident that his accomplishments and knowledge will be valuable assets to our team and the wider firm.”
