Nottingham-based software giant Ideagen has appointed Michael Dowthwaite as chief customer officer.

Dowthwaite brings over 23 years’ experience to the regulatory and compliance specialist. He will be responsible for driving growth and customer satisfaction at the company.

He joins Ideagen from Salesforce, where he held a succession of global leadership roles.

Dowthwaite said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Ideagen, a company that has a remarkable reputation in providing class-leading software solutions to its customers.

“After meeting Ben and the leadership team it was an easy decision to jump on board. The opportunity to lead and scale the Customer Success function and enhance our support and delivery services is extremely exciting.

“I look forward to working with the talented team at Ideagen and supporting them to deliver more value to customers and stakeholders.”

Ben Dorks, Ideagen CEO, said: “We have always had a strong focus on supporting and championing our customers, who every day make decisions that keep the world around us safe and protected. It was therefore important that our executive team reflected this.

“Michael extensive experience combined with his customer-first mindset, will be instrumental in driving value and enhanced outcomes for those using Ideagen solutions. We’re delighted to have him on board.”

Elsewhere in Nottingham, insurance broker Russell Scanlan has welcomed back Rob Wood, who has returned to the business as senior accounts handler after five and a half years away.

He brings over 33 years’ experience to the role.

Rob Wood

Wood said: “It’s great to be back at Russell Scanlan, working with such a good-natured and knowledgeable team. My five and a half years away from the firm has allowed me to increase my versatility — particularly on bigger accounts — and develop my skillset when delivering quality for clients.

“As senior accounts handler, my primary role is to liaise daily with our clients, negotiating renewal terms and dealing with challenging enquiries. I’m really looking forward to applying the knowledge I have nurtured throughout my career to strengthen the team and drive the business forward.”

Mike Dickinson, sales & marketing director at Russell Scanlan, added: “It is our great pleasure to welcome Rob back to the Russell Scanlan team. His varied knowledge of different sectors, coupled with his experience in the insurance industry, will help us expand our own portfolio of expertise as we enter an exciting period of business growth.

“As Rob is a familiar face to our team and clientele, known for his good-humoured and proactive approach, we are excited to have him back on the team, helping us in our business ambitions and reinforcing our reputation as experts in many fields.”
