Derbyshire-based independent financial planning firm Belmayne has appointed a pair of experienced advisors.

The arrival of John Lomax and Andrew Boulton in Dronfield takes the total number of financial planners at Belmayne to nine.

Lomax joined the financial services industry in 2001 and became an independent planner 16 years ago, while Boulton enjoyed a successful career in the technology sector before making the switch to finance. Since qualifying as a financial planner, Boulton has worked for a large national company in the sector.

Martin Birch, partner at Belmayne, said: “It is an absolute pleasure to welcome John and Andy to the firm. Our core philosophy is to put clients at the centre of everything we do and they both have a fantastic track record of providing holistic services that benefit entire families. I have no doubt their energy and enthusiasm will be a great boost to our friendly team and I look forward to working with them closely.”

Elsewhere in Derbyshire, Penguin PR has welcomed former journalist Jenny Moody to its team.

Moody began her career at the Burton Mail as a trainee reporter before moving on to the Uttoxeter Advertiser. She has also written for Staffordshire Live.

She said: “I am really pleased to be joining Penguin PR and ready to start sharing all the exciting and innovative ways that businesses, schools and charities across Derbyshire and Staffordshire have been supporting people and their communities as they continue to grow.

“It is a brilliant time to be joining the company and I hope to bring everything I have learned through my years as a journalist to Penguin to help promote clients and their stories.”

Moody’s appointment brings the total number of staff at Penguin PR, which has offices in Derby and Chesterfield, up to seven.

Sarah Newton, co-founder of Penguin PR, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Jenny to Penguin PR. She is a very experienced reporter, has excellent writing skills and, most importantly, has an eye for a good story.

“PR is an effective way for organisations to raise awareness of themselves by being able to tell an engaging story. Not only will Jenny’s skills be invaluable for our current clients, her experience and knowledge of Burton will enable us to spread our wings into East Staffordshire as well.”
